Funny Sayings of a 3 Year Old

1. While trying to get me to hurry so that we could go to the library: "Hurry up you old woman".

2. "Oooh, that's sooky!"- How he says spooky. He loved all of the cobwebs we put up for Halloween and kept running to each spot to say that line.

3. While watching How to Train Your Dragon, "Why does that dragon shoot water? Is it to make hot chocolate?"

4. After playing with his friend Margo- "I had fun with Margo today. But I miss my friend Harper. Ugh, why does she have to be cool and go to preschool?" :)

Where did the fall go to?

I am once again catching up. I was just talking to Dustin this morning about how crazy it is that he only has 4 more weeks of school left. It feels like it should still be September and just starting the new semester. I guess we really are getting old now that time is flying.

Teagie's 3rd B-day. Can't believe my little guy is getting so big.
We had a fun time going to Playplace with friends and having cupcakes.
The sleeping dragon for Halloween. He got so tired just getting excited to go trick or treating.
Playing bingo at the church trunk or treat. Daddy was the
handsome knight while mommy was a princess.

49er Fever

Fall has brought the football season in full swing and we were lucky enough to be able to go to the 49er  -Vikings game for Dustin's b-day. Teagen was so excited to be able to go and was pumped up for weeks before. It was sad that the niners lost but we still had fun.

Crazy that he could fall asleep during the game. It was so loud!

Glad we got to go with friends Drew & McKenzie and Aaron & Jenny, even if A & J tried to get T to cheer for the wrong team :)

Super Hero on the Potty

I had to post this pic even though Teagie has been potty trained since June. He always tells me he is the super hero on the potty :) And this is his oh so awesome super hero pose complete with big boy chonies.

Back to Cali

Finally got in the mood to update the blog and do some major catching up. T and I went to Fresno for 3 weeks to visit Gammie, Grandpa Reed, Hanna & Jake. We had a great time and I even taught Teagen how to swim. We stayed busy visiting lots of places like the Museum of Natural History, Le Brea Tar Pits, Morro Bay, Grant's Grove, and the Boyden Cave.

Off to See the "Stachios"

We joined Dustin's family for a fun week of camping in the Black Hills and seeing Mt. Rushmore. Teagen told us he wanted to see the stachios. I thought he was talking about the pistachios that we were eating. Nope, found out after some time that he was talking about the statues at Mt. Rushmore. I didn't think there would be so much to do in South Dakota but there was a lot. We also saw Jewel Cave, Cosmos, drove by Crazy Horse, fished, hiked and let the kids roll around in the dirt. We also had some good fun playing Settlers of Catan and ladderball. Sad when the trip had to end. Teagen had such a great time seeing his grandpa and grandma and playing with his cousin Siena.
Dirty Fun!! Those two couldn't resist rolling around in all of the dirt.

Such a Good Job Mom

I gave T a haircut today and had a heck of a time using our worthless clippers. Teagen was not liking it one bit. He couldn't sit still at all, so after only getting half a head buzzed I gave him a bath and figured a nice long break would do us both good. For my second attempt, I decided to just cut with scissors. He did so much better since the hair wasn't getting all over him and the scissors were not loud. As I was cutting, he told me "You're doing such a good job mom! I'm so proud of you!" Just melted my heart and reminded me that sometimes I need to not force things on him when there might be a longer but easier way.

Not Really Meat

"When daddy is away, Teagen and mommy try new foods ok." ;) I decided to make turkey burgers and sweet potato fries for dinner since Dustin is in Hettinger during the week. I told Teagie that we were going to be trying a new kind of hamburger. He had a bite and said "It's not meat!" I guess he really is too much like his father. Kind of funny that I can't influence him even at 2 :) Love my "REAL" meat loving boys!

Visit to McCall

We went to visit Grandpa Griffiths in McCall, ID and had a great time fishing, hiking, and playing at the beach. The scenery was beautiful as always. Teagen had the most fun building sand castles and knocking them all down.

Temple Trips

This spring has been wonderful most of all because we were able to be sealed as a family. It is such a great feeling knowing that we will be able to be together forever. Teagen was especially excited to be able to go to the temple with us in St. George, Utah.  He told everyone including strangers about our trip to the temple. Both temples were especially beautiful but I have to admit the St. George one was just amazing. I am so proud of how far Dustin and I have come as husband and wife and can't wait to continue our journey together.

Crockin' Good Times

The Crock Pot King!!
Teagen loves, loves, loves to help me cook. He loves to make crock pot dinners the most. Every morning he tells me first thing that we need to make a "pock pot". Since using the crock pot makes easy and less messy dinners, I am all for going along with his plans. He has gotten so good at helping me with them that he has even got some of the recipes memorized and knows which setting they need to cook on. I am always so impressed. Hopefully, we will have a future chef in the family or at least I know that he can help his future wife with the cooking.

More Sayings

Angry Birds is known as "Hungry Birds"

The Chiropractors Office is actually the "Cracker Office" :)

"You're a Hound dog!!"- Says this to everyone

Before we went to the temple, he told strangers "I'm going to the temple!" They had no idea what to say unless they knew what that meant. The lady that did his hair just completely stopped talking to us after he said that :)

Teagen: "Mama are you tired?" me: "Yes, very. Are you?" Teagen: "No way, I'm up and at it now."

Sweet Little Sayings

Here are a few of the cute things Teagen is saying right now. Thought I should jot them down before I forget them. They make me smile and I instantly remember why I love him so dang much, especially after he has done something naughty.

1. While talking to daddy and pointing at me, "That's my girl."

2. "I'm not a sunshine (or any cute name I call him), I'm a Teagie!"

3. "Whatch you doin?"

4. "I don't know" -This is cute because he only says it after the fourth time I have asked him what he is saying or talking about. He just says it because he gets sick of explaining or restating :)

5. "Hello Snake"-Talking to his toy rubber snake

6. "Hello Bob" -Apparently the name he gave to his backhoe or dump truck. Haven't yet figured out which one. Maybe they are both Bob...

7. As we are entering the NDSU Equine Center, "This is Heaven!"

8. "Ugh, I'm a STARVIN' MARVIN!"

9. As he pushes my head to Dustin's in a group hug, "Two mamas, two mamas." Dustin really appreciates that one :)

10 "Mama, you're stinky."-after he lets out a huge fart and giggles.

I'm sure I will think of more later and have to add to the list.

Easter 2012

We left the Easter Bunny a note and bunny bait to say thanks.

Easter Bunny left lots of eggs!!

And a basket too!

Kringle Anyone?

I decided to tackle making Kringle for the first time for general conference weekend. I have made it with my mom before but never all by myself. I could not have been more pleased when I was finally finished. (It takes about 4 hours to make) It didn't turn out quite like mom's but close enough ;) I will have to practice again so that I can make a wonderful one for Christmas.

Teagie excited to dig in!

A closer look: A layered pastry filled with an almond paste, butter, & raisin mixture. Topped with almond slices & sugar. Yummy! Takes me home :)

Happy Birthday Grandma & Grandpa Ford!

We're sad we are going to miss Grandma and Grandpa Ford's 75th & 80th birthday party but we hope they enjoy Teagen's video we made to celebrate. It was too funny making it because a toddler does what a toddler wants. The first attempt is better than the second so we stuck with it but you can see them both. Sorry the quality isn't the best but still cute.

Productivity Makes Me Happy!

So after having a successful morning at being productive I almost posted on fb when I realized A) nobody cares, B) nobody needs to know about the insignificant daily details of my life & C) that's what blogging is for :) This is just a reminder to myself that being productive makes me feel so much better than being lazy. I just had this overwhelming Ahhhhh feeling after realizing at 11:30 that I had a clean house, updated all of my blogs, got dinner in the crock pot, birthday cakes baking in the oven, finished an Easter craft with Teagie, got a free years subscription to Rachael Ray magazine, and started getting ready to make fondant and Kringle for conference weekend all while being dressed for the day with hair and makeup done. I just love that feeling of accomplishment rather than what I have on the days when I'm in my jammies most of the morning or worse when I can't even remember what I actually got done during the day.

Spring Break

It's been awhile since Dustin and I have been able to enjoy a spring break so we decided to have some fun with the one we had this year. We first went to Minneapolis to see the Mall of America and the other sites. We had a great time with our friends Drew & Mckenzie and it was nice getting away from Fargo for a few days. The weather was wonderful which made up for the girl scout extravaganza at the mall. I've never seen so many girl scouts in one place before! Since the mall was so crowded we decided to spend more time doing things like eating famous Juicy Lucys, visiting a cute children's bookstore called Wild Rumpus, and stopping at Whole Foods and the outlets on the way home. Oh and I can't forget to mention the crazy guy at the hotel hot tub that said he was an MMA fighter and forced Dustin to feel the scars on his head. I was impressed to see how patient Dustin was with him especially since he liked to invade personal space.  Oh the memories :) Our second stop during our break was the Fargo Air Museum. Teagen had a wonderful time seeing all of the cool planes, jets and helicopters. Definitely a boy!
